Samuel L. Plank (1821-1900)
Paint-decorated Hanging Saltbox
Near Belleville, Pennsylvania


Samuel L. Plank was born in Mifflin County, Pa.. At various times he also lived and worked in Juniata County, Pa. and McLean Co., Ill.

He produced a number of similar colorful, black-trimmed, and flower-decorated boxes. The example shown here was a gift to a family member.
