Wooden Glass Cutter Trade Sign
Philadelphia
Pine, sheet metal
Circa 1940-1950
This trade sign depicting a glass cutter was found hanging in the window of a Philadelphia hardware store during the 1950's.
A dollar bill has been included with the image to help you gauge its size.
The sign is made primarily of carved, painted wood (probably pine), with a metal cutting wheel and metal eye hooks for hanging.
It appears to be hand-made and one-of-a-kind. It measures approximately 31" long by 5 3/4" at the widest.
The sign is in terrific condition; it does have multiple minor nicks, scratches and abrasions,
but they do not detract from the overall appearance and in fact attest to its age and authenticity.
